Why Use Email Marketing?

My Observations about Businesses and Email Marketing:
As a Marketing Consultant I find it to be a hard sell to get people to first place proper value on Email Marketing then secondly, to get them to actually use Email Marketing in their day to day activities so much so that it becomes second nature.

Well the cold hard fact is that email has already become second nature to many if not most of us, it is the one thing that is done most online. As a matter of fact I along with millions of people check my email several times a day and at the very least just before I go to bed and weed through the bad and not-so-bad ones to get to the really good ones. Those are the highlight of my day (as far as email goes).

The negatives with Email Marketing:
Yes a large percentage of emails are unwanted and surely I understand that decent business owners do not want their company to be seen in a negative light... but there is a way to make absolutely sure that that does not happen to your emails.

How to make absolutely sure your Email Marketing is positive:
Think about your business, the products and services you offer. What makes them interesting, useful, even valuable to your clients? How does your most enthusiastic client feel about you, your company and it's services? Well that is the sort of information you need to put in your emails. Yes, the answer is to make sure your emails are not seen as negative by making them come alive, be exciting and fun... this feeling will carry through to your clients, just try it and see.

Just dive right into Email Marketing:
Don't wait for a special date, occasion, etc...Because what I find is that a few clients after they eventually get an Email Marketing account it just sits there for months on end. If this describes you what you need to do is take your cell phone camera and tape your best salesman talking with lots of excitement about how he landed a deal. Email it to him and ask him to spend 30 minutes writing an article about the sale but from the clients point of view. Then you edit it and that can simply be all of or a big part of one months email you send out. (A Quick Marketing Tip: If you have a blog it would be great to put the video there also.)

Keep going forward do not stop your Email Marketing efforts:
Don't worry if you don't have time or knowledge to pretty it up with graphics and a theme or whatever, you can simply send an article like that out at the beginning of every month and call it "This is why people love us so" or "This is why I love this business" of whatever just send something fun, exciting or informative out no less that once each month -- commit to doing this no-matter-what and after the third time you'll see how easy it has become.

Six months or so down the line you can start adding graphics and such but do not allow that to stop you from gaining from the very best, most cost-effective thing you can do to steadily grow your business in these tough times.

And it is the best option if you are a busy person.
